Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, and Hyperbaric Oxygen TherapyScroll down to read My Comprehensive Fibromyalgia Treatment Program Fibromyalgia is known as a syndrome and it has puzzled researchers and physicians since it first began to be recognized as a legitimate syndrome, and given a name. Even today, the scientific community does not know much more about Fibromyalgia than it did 15 years ago. And I certainly do not have all the answers either. However using hyperbaric oxygen therapy, a therapy that is much more widely used in Europe and Asia than in the USA, there have been enough successes to make it a therapy worthy of being studied and examined as it is in the US, today. And while it is still being studied in the USA to “prove” its usefulness, not everybody wants to wait for the USA to catch up to Europe and Asia to obtain the benefits of hyperbaric oxygen. Using SPECT Scans, a study from the University of Alabama found that there is a lessened brain blood flow in people suffering from Fibromyalgia than in people without Fibromyalgia. Hyperbaric therapy works by greatly increasing cellular oxygen intake, which is one of the main results of increasing blood flow. Perhaps this is one explanation as to why hyperbaric oxygen has been found to help people suffering from Fibromyalgia. Hyperbaric oxygen is not a cure; but it does help patients to feel better and do more, and this often revives their desire to do even more. Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy is a safe, effective method of delivering increased oxygen to the body’s cells, tissues, organs, and fluids.
My Comprehensive Program My comprehensive program for the treatment of Fibromyalgia/Chronic Fatigue is multi-pronged. My approach with each patient is personalized, however the basic program has common threads. The treatment program usually consists of some or all of the following: Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, Low Level Laser, Diet modifications, Nutritional Supplementation, Detoxification, and Exercise (both physical and mental). |
